bring the noise
Each year with our local sister pageant, known as the Flora Apple Queen Pageant, we have ramped up the amount of showmanship and production value. In 2020, we moved the stage outdoors, brought in a Stageline ProMobile production stage, over 200 square foot of LED video screens, cryojets, pyrotechnics, and a full sound and light show to create a night our local girls would never forget. After receiving requests from all over the State of Illinois to open up participation, the Executive Board concluded that in 2021, we would in fact open up our show for all contestants in Illinois.
Our motto is and will forever be that a Crown doesn’t make you a Queen. We want the broken, the identity-seekers, and the imperfect. What does the perfect Queen look like to us? The truth is: she looks like YOU. This system is setup to guide you through the process of finding and improving yourself. Welcome to a different pageant.
While there are many great Pageant systems out there that exist for a multitude of different reasons, Miss NextGen Illinois is certainly unique in its presentation, structure and purpose. And to us...that makes it very special.
Since 2014, we've had the distinct pleasure of working with some of the best and most versatile on-site photographers. John Hafner and Kaleb White have traveled the globe capturing breathtaking, iconic moments of celebrities, landscapes, cultures and more. Our pageant system is luck to have John and Kaleb company, Grit Media, serving as our official event photographers.

Kimberly Haun & Brittany Cook
With 30+ years of combined experience as competitors, parents of competitors, directors, owners, and promoters, Executive Directors Kimberly Haun and Brittany Cook have developed what they feel is the next evolution of pageantry: the Miss NextGen Illinois Pageant System.
Built off a proven platform known as the Flora Apple Queen Pageant, these ladies have poured their hearts and souls into building a system that rewards young women for who they are on the inside, not just what they may appear to be on the outside.
Dealing with health and safety protocols in 2020 gave our pageant systems a blessing in disguise as we moved our traditionally indoor pageant into the great outdoors. As we looked for local venues that would meet our needs, we didn't have to look any further than the walls of Venue 720, a rustic old Ford garage that has been turned into one of the absolute best wedding and event venues in all of Southern Illinois.
Set on 3.5 acres in the heart of downtown Flora, Venue 720 boasts an incredible 8,400 square foot of banquet room space of which we utilize for dressing rooms, interview space, hair/make-up/seamstress stations, and a 450 square foot stage used for our kick-off concert on Night 1 of Pageant weekend.
